1-1/2 Cups Cornmeal
1/4 Cup Plain Flour
2-1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
3/4 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Onion
1 Egg
3/4 Cup Milk (or Water)
Stir together and add 3/4 cup milk (or water). Mix
until smooth. Drop by tablespoonfuls into hot grease,
fry until brown. Drain on paper towels.
These are best fried where you have fried your
day's catch of fish. I used to mix these up and send
with the guides to make on the gravel bar with their
fishermen.
